Joanne’s Place – Opened Doors July 1st, 2025

Joanne’s Place – Elevate Hope House’s 2nd Home is dedicated to the 1st Person to Support the vision of our organization in 2016. In fact, she was a pillar in Oak Hill Baptist Church for many years alongside her husband Milton. When Oak Hill Baptist Church closed $200,000 was dedicated to the growth of Elevate Hope House – this very 2nd Home.

May 2nd, 2025 – Our 2nd Home Moves to its Home!

Nothing is impossible for our God. We have been waiting since January of 2025 to move our 2nd Home to Ham Lake, Minnesota. Finally, we received the call to move our 2nd Home at the end of April only to receive a follow up call a few days later that the permit was denied and it will be another 6 weeks of waiting. Thankfully, our Founder and the head of the CE Programs of Spring Lake Park High School didn’t give up and started making calls. In partnership with some pretty incredible leaders at Anoka County as well as County Commissioner Julie Braastad – our home moved at midnight the night before our Garden Partea. 4 miles of construction barrels had to be removed and replaced to make it happen – and a specific time frame was required to make the exception happen (hence moving on the least ideal night for our EHH Team!) but we did it! Thank you for your prayers and support!

How cool to experience the very first wall of Elevate Hope House’s 2nd Home go up by the students of Spring Lake Park High School. In a year – this home will house mamas not much older than these students – a humbling realization of how incredible our God truly is in how He works to move in our lives.

March 19th, 2024 – A Firm Foundation

Spring Break is over and over 40 Spring Lake Park High School students have begun building a foundation under Scott Strickland as part of their education in discovering their calling for a future in trades!

March 1st, 2024 – A Day to Celebrate!

On March 1st, 2024, Founder Melinda McDermott signed with Spring Lake Park High School to start building Elevate’s second home in Spring 2024. After years of prayer since opening our first home in 2020, we are so excited for this unique opportunity to partner with SLP students to build the next one. Not only will our donations be able to build our next home to further house moms and their children experiencing homelessness, but students will be able to learn trade skills to prepare them for a future career in the years ahead. God knew the plan, and we are thankful we waited for His perfect timing – more updates to come in the months ahead! And if you would like to contribute financially to this project DONATE HERE.
